Day 28 of copper in qt. Just did water change. Possum wrasse has wound on side, floating horizontal with occasional spasms. He is currently in an acclimation box in the qt. He cannot right himself, swimming upside down and horizontal. He is using the top of the box to stabilize himself. He was in perfect condition and eating at 6pm. What can I do? Is this a swim bladder issue?

One nice thing about saltwater fish is their ability to heal and heal quickly
Is fish eating and breathing normally?

He ate dinner earlier. Now he probably wouldn’t be able to. Breathing is slow and labored.

Is the wound new? I am seeing a wound on it's side which I am guessing is the issue. Maybe bacterial or uronema.
I don’t think it’s Uronema. Others would have it, plus I already ran metroplex and Kanaplex for 5 doses a couple of weeks ago for a bacterial eye infection.

Just saw fish on larger screen. Not uronema but nasty wound
Could use a couple clearer pics under white lighting

It looks just like Uronema. The trouble is, that infection is inter cellular and you don’t see signs of it until it breaks the skins surface. There is no treatment for that, sorry.
If it isn’t Uronema then the differential diagnosis would be an injury, but those just don’t happen - what other fish are in with it?

there is a Flame Hawkfish and Clown Goby. What is the risk with the others? What do I do?

He’s gone. How do I treat my qt to save the rest of the fish? Also, if I took a mouthful of qt water during the water change. Can I get Uronema, LOL?

Ah, you can’t catch Uronema, but never start a siphon by mouth as there are bacteria in aquariums that you don’t want to swallow…just getting water in your mouth isn’t as much of an issue, given the thousands of people who dive in public aquariums each year.
Uronema is not very contagious but isn’t treatable anyway. Is there any chance the flame hawk tagged it?

I genuinely don’t believe it was the flame hawk. The two fish have been sharing a “sleeping” spot and have been observed getting along beautifully. But anything is possible. Such a depressing sad day.

Well, that pretty much just leaves Uronema, sorry.
