My Powder Blue Tang has not ate in a week. I have had him for so many years I don't remember how old he is. Im looking for advice what to do. I have always fed him Mysis and Nori. I put some seachem MetroPlex in the tank yesterday because thats what I had. The spots in the pictues are debris floating in the tank he doesnt have anything on him.

#fishmedic

This should get some help from one of the fish medics. There is also a forum for fish disease that you will get faster help if you ever need help again.

Good luck with the powder blue. Beautiful fish!

Did you add anything new that might be stressing him out? Also Ive found garlic and PE mysis together usually gets my fish eating pretty fast, maybe try that for him to see of the smell attracts him? He is stunning!

I'd be wary about adding metro to your display tank.

Did the tang go suddenly off its feed, or did it slow down gradually?

I don't see anything on the fish itself that points to the issue,.

Too late on the Metro. I'm doing a water change today, what are the negitives of Metro? I noticed him slowly being disinterested in eating to now I havent seen him eat in a week. He looks to me like he's losing mass.

Metronidazole isn't considered "reef safe" by many people. For that reason, I've never dosed it with invertebrates. Maybe at lower doses it's o.k., but I was never inclined to test for invertebrate mortalities myself, I don't use metro very often. SeaChem says their Metroplex is NOT safe for invertebrates.
