So in an attempt to reduce the power consumption on my tank, I opted to replace my Sicce Syncra 4.0 return pump with a Jabeo DCP-3500. I've been monitoring my consumption using a Sonoff Smart Plug.

With the Sicce Syncra 4.0, I was consistently averaging about 4.5kWh a day. Ever since I switched to the DCP-3500, my consuption started to vary quite a bit anywhere from 4.8kWh to 5.8kWh. I definitely would have though I would save energy switching over to a DC motor but apparently that was not the case.

When I was running the Sicce, I used a ball valve to control the flow going into my display tank. When I switched to the DCP-3500, I fully opened the valve and reduced the speed using the controller.

Can anyone advise to what I did wrong?
