Power Heads

I have a 60 gallon tank, I am currently using 4 power heads, two 800 GPH at the top on one side an two 1150 GPH on the bottom on the other side. The problem is that my canister filter doesn't seem to suck the debris from the water as it should. Am I using too many power heads?

The more indirect flow the better. It's probably quite a bit of flow for a 60, but an overflow basket would out proform the ability of the canister, depending on what you have. As long as the powerheads keep the detritus suspended, as it breaks down the filter should eventually pull it ou though.
