Hello all, I have a 75 gallon marineland corner flow with a eshopps r-100 sump. The tank has been running for about 10 months (fish only) and I am slowly making steps towards coral, I think that one of the next steps is flow.

Currently I have a maxi jet-600 from marineland and its running in powerhead mode:

The return pump is a compactON 3000 and it on the lowest setting (475 gph)

I guess my question how many powerheads would I need, (from the cheaper end like a Koralia). I am aiming for a mixed tank, and the pumps can be AC. Or if I could just know what the equation is to find appropriate flow rate in my tank (gph).

Thanks.

P.S here's what my tank looks right now

To start, I would get another to match. Put it at the other end of the tank. Angle them a bit, pointing towards the front of the tank.

I think that that could be a option, but the real reason I got the maxi jet was to mix my salt in circulator mode. Also, the maxi jet in powerhead mode looks pretty ugly AND the flow rate is only 160gph. I do like you idea of placement though, If you do think the best option would be getting another powerhead then I will do that. Thanks

watch some clips and just see what it’s all about and what products are available. Decide from what you learn what type of flow you want in your tank. It’s all about personal style and what type of flow you want. Have fun
