Average at best and more expensive .
Spectrapure is the only vendor who specially treats all of their RO membranes which is proven to improve their performance. They are also the only vendor to custom blend all their own fresh reef specific DI resins in house based on thousands of hours of testing. They use only low micron absolute or near absolute rated sediment and carbon block filters, capillary tube flow restrictors the end user can adjust to suit their water conditions and they provide pressure gauges even on the $125 system. No comparison.
Increase your membrane performance by just 2% and you double the life of your DI. Add better DI to start with and it's even more. Do a better job of protecting your carbon block with a lower micron near absolute sediment filter and it will last longer and protect the membrane better. Think of it as a well thought out system from start to finish. When it lasts longer and works better it costs you less to own and operate, your cost per gallon of treated water goes down.

Thank you for this invaluable information! Appreciate it more than you know!

BRS doesn't make anything on an RO/DI system. They assemble parts made by others same as everyone else. It's all about what parts you use and what works well with everything else. The better the parts the better it all functions and the longer everything lasts.

First I would pass if it was stolen, that just supporting the wrong thing. The Aqua Bubblt is a good filter but the slowness of filtering you will get tired of. I had an Aqua Buddy and did a cost analysts of filer replacement and went with a higher end unit and over time changing the filter changes areless. Filtering is also twice as fast with the new filter. Look at long term instead of short term.:)

Do you know for sure how old the housings are?
I got a free setup from a friend that pulled it out of his rental unit. I put in all new filters and the thing literally blew up under pressure.
As the housings age the plastic gets frail overtime and will do this. Lesson learned for me used RODI units are not worth it even if they're free.
