So I have the same indo torch in 3 places in my tank and over the past week or so one of them has started to die off, head by head.

no signs of brown jelly. The tentacles just slowly recede and the tissue seems to go missing around the skeleton.

I noticed this one snail has been stuck right under the heads all day long. It doesn’t go out to graze at. I didn’t think anything of it until tonight. I stopped down to add some water to my reservoir and decided to look in the tank. Well what do you know there is that snail up on the torch head eating away at the tissue. Little SOB was hungry.

I threw him in the dump and will get pics up tomorrow. I never heard about snails eating corals before. It probably hitchhiked in with my Gulf live rock.

Ok here are some pics. I have never seen this type of snail before. It’s shell is pretty intricate.

also a pic of the torch he was living on and eating.

This is going to sound weird and maybe just a coincidence, but it’s shell is slimy to the touch.

pics don’t show it well but the Shell color is a bit more reddish.
