My fiancé and I just received our first mantis shrimp and she arrived pregnant. We have had her for about a week and she doesn’t seem to want to eat anything (emerald crabs, hermit crabs and some small fish are in her tank). The eggs are still with her at all times in her burrow. My question is, if anyone has experience with this...
1) is it normal for her not to eat anything
2) How long until her babies hatch?

Idk alot of info on the cycle. But will.most likely not be able to find a sufficient food source to sustain them. And it is normal for them not to eat while holding.
Interested and following...

After speaking with the person who sold us our Mantis, it is very unlikely that the babies will survive. It’s very difficult to manage them. We just want to make sure our mantis is okay and healthy!
