Pressure problem with RODI system

Hello,

A few years ago I was in the hobby and I had an RODI system. When I took my tank down I had the RODI system in the basement with water in it because I could not get it all out. I just set up a 20g tank and when I set the RODI system back up to test it read 20 PSI, it used to read 40 or more. I called brs and they sent me a new pressure gage now it reads 36 PSI. Then I tried a new sediment filter. Nothing changed. Any idea on whats going on? Also I'm still reading 0 TDS so do yall think I can use the water out of the system safely? Btw I have well water and 20 TDS coming in.

Where in the system is the pressure gauge? Before or after the ro membrane?
 
And it's installed on the same water supply as before? Nothing else changed other than the pressure gauge and sediment filter?
 
IF you are on well water you will need to de-gas your water before it goes into the RO unit.
Otherwise you will burn through di resin fast.
 
I believe the water needs to be collected to de-gas & then pumped into the RO unit.

Did you flush the membrane? If not try that first. My RO unit instructions say boost 50psi with a 80PSI max. I run it about 75psi. There should be a flush diverter valve on your unit
 
Your well is supplying 20 TDS water? That is amazing all by itself.

If you're getting 0 TDS water out of your unit, then you're golden!!! Assuming your TDS meter is accurate.

It will produce more waste water and be less efficient, which will cost you time and electricity... but you don't have to shell out for the booster pump if you don't want to. The booster pump will make the unit more efficient, meaning it will produce more clean water for the amount of waste water.
 
If you’re producing 0TDS water at 36psi, I wouldn’t worry about it. I installed a booster pump on mine and ICPs started showing silicates in my RODI water. Took it offline and back to all clear RODI on my ICP. It just takes forever to fill my water storage now.

yeah, there wasn't any difference
