Hey guys, I don’t have access to a par meter, but wondering if my lights are set high enough. I have a prime 16 HD over my 24 cube, all sps, some acros, montis and some im not sure.

I ran 1st 4 at 100% and the rest 50% on my 18" nano cube running 2 16hds.

How come no UV channel?

I’m running UV and Violet 100% blues 70% and moonlight 50% for color. That’s for 9 hours.

Then the Aquatic life t5 hybrid fixture is on 6 hours with that.

agreed pics of the tank help. A single one of these lights for acros will need to be turned up pretty good and no higher than 8” off the water.

Did you mean a 24 gallon cube or a 24” cube?

Running the uv above 30 percent melts the lenses. The store I got the coral from also recommended little
To no uv, they said it tends to irritate the coral.

Yes the old lenses would melt but Ai sent out new ones for free that are updated. It happened to mine.

As far as irritating corals that seems anecdotal or they wouldn’t keep using them as part of the spectrum. It’s only 1 diode.

These are the settings I use on my 48 cube. Gets me around 150 par to the upper mid section of the tank.. I start with white light earlier in the morning and then transition to blue lights in the afternoon.

Running the UV channel over 100% can possibly melt lenses if they have a film of salt spray on them.
Most times it's not an issue.

The coral don't care, it's not real UV just a deep purple and is designed to make the tank look good to human eyes.

Yea I was running 8 at one time and most were purchased used so I just kept a few around. I still have 3 lens and 3 16hds sitting in the garage. If I ever setup another nano im good to go, lol.
