Priority Shipping

I’ve always wanted to know if certain corals would survive priority shipping, so in an effort to prove whether or not it’s possible me and @THE REEF WHISPER have put for the following experiment. Tomorrow morning, we will be shipping a parcel with four flags from West Palm Beach, Florida to Connecticut. The frags included in the box are ones we decided are pretty durable. Sunset Ricordea Yuma. Green Ricordea Florida. Pandora zoanthinds and a small frag of Kelly Green Psamacora. We will update the thread once the Frags arrive and see what condition they’re in. Wish us luck!!!

Shipping is the worst. Paying big money for overnight AIR, only to have things arrive a day or two later just sucks.

Its all about the packing and appropriate heat/cold packs and of course the carrier

Ship them in an insulated thermos, some of those will hold temp for day(s). Someone needs to design a 3D printed holder for standard models. Zoas will easily handle that.

Honestly, with the cost of those thermoses nowadays, it might be less to pay for the shipping. Lol

Everything went out this morning. Very Well insulated. Four separate specimen containers containing a very small amount of carbon along with the corals. Based on the weather, it should be very mild the whole trip. I really can’t wait to see the results. I remember about 20 years ago. I ordered zoanthinds from one company. They shipped them to me in a padded envelope with the Zoanthids in a wet paper towel!!! Actually one of the frags made it and that seller in particular ghosted me when it came to the “guarantee”

I’m actually shipping ~2ft long thin glass rods and bars from California to Pennsylvania right now…

I packaged them very well, but I suppose this could serve as a test of UPS’s “handling” side of the shipping business!

Durable stuff should be fine as long as temps are stableish. As ana anecdote, not that long ago I was moving some frags around and forgot about a gsp frag in a ziploc bag. I found it a week later and dropped it into the tank....it ended up being fine. I've had zoas and stuff in bags for a couple days without issues.

I actually did some tank maintenance a while back and about a week later I found one of those sunset Yuma‘s alive in a bucket that I siphoned some detritus into, and there was a bunch of dead flat worms in there also so those guys can take a licking

So the package went out Tuesday early and even though it was scheduled to arrive today, did not arrive. We are hoping it comes in tommorow. Anybody out there with experience receiving a coral package in the mail for several days?

I'm a THE REEF WHISPER, Staghorn is that nicest person i ever met the package didn't make it to me tonight Fri but might come tomorrow hopefully or Monday I'll update everyone on the coral and how they are. Also if that are alive I will do a week update on Them this person on this form is one of the best sellers I would 100% recommend him

DO NOT under any circumstances even open the container if the coral is melted into goo. You will instantly regret it and you will never forget the smell. Besides that, just acclimate and dip as normal. I dip EVERYTHING no matter who it came from.

It was delayed at a shipping center until early AM on the Wednesday/delivery updated to this monday…

Another check this morning shows that it’s now been delayed again until Tuesday… four days after delivery quote…

It was delayed at a shipping center until early AM on the Wednesday/delivery updated to this monday…

Another check this morning shows that it’s now been delayed again until Tuesday… four days after delivery quote…

It seems like all mail is super delayed lately. Check that normally took one or two days to arrive or taking a week and that’s just regular snail mail envelopes.

What are those used for?
