Here's an update after 2 hours. Two are in the tank currently. Others sadly did not make it the Zoas and the Florida green mushroom.
This is an awesome, successful shipment—and also the answer to anyone who wants to ship. A Priority Mail package came from Florida all the way to Connecticut, so this is telling us: Why do we need to spend so much money on overnight shipping when SPS lived through a 6-day shipment with a little bleach here and there? This is even showing us—look at how nice the Sunrise Yumas are after a 6-day shipment. They look like an overnight; they look amazing! I hope this thread can make people think: Why do we need to spend all this money, and what is the point?
I know some corals definitely won't make it through a 6-day shipment, but this is another example showing how far we've come in the hobby of breeding and fragging corals. We've made our corals so hardy that they can survive 6 days without light and getting handled.
I have to give amazing credit to this seller—the best seller I've ever met. He's amazing, and he put together this thread. I have to give him 100%, five stars for everything he did.
This is what I want people to see and hear: It really matters how you package the coral to give them the best chance of survival, and also how you take care of the coral in your tank to make them so durable that they can withstand a long shipment. These aren't just regular mushrooms that can stay alive for a week; the longest record I researched for these kinds of mushrooms was like 2 to 3 days—maybe four if you're really lucky. This will really make people think: Why do we need to spend all this money when we can ship it for 20 bucks instead of 120 bucks? But again, it does matter what kind of coral you're willing to ship.
