Pro Clear Aquatics Impact 400

I have a pro clear aquatics impact 400 running on a 300g reef and it has always seemed a little under gunned. I was wondering if switching to a mag 9.5 from a 7 would increase the performance. Or maybe any other DIY's like a mesh wheel mod might help. Any advice is appreciated.

Mesh Impeller Mod. Those things rock. Plenty of how to do out there. I have it on mine.
