Problem with SpectraPure RO/DI Unit

There is no water coming out of the product side on the membrane housing, so it can’t be the auto-shut off. Water on the product side is never even making it to the auto-shut off.

I emailed SpectraPure yesterday and no response. I’ll try calling them tomorrow.
The black valve needs to be open (in line) with the line to make water. Forgive me if it was turned for the photo. :thinking-face:

Yes, exactly. Is it normal to have to remove a protective layer on the membrane to start using it? I didn't see one when I pulled it out, but it has been a long time since I've handled an RO membrane.

I have never seen one with a protective all the ones I have received from Spectrapure or Filmtec came in a bag.

Did you install your DI cartridge upside down? Big rubber gasket/washer needs to be at the top.

Finally resolved. The membrane that came with my unit is bad. This was confirmed by installing the membrane from my old SpectraPure RO/DI system, which resulted in normal water production. SpectraPure is sending me a new membrane! :)
