I was away for a few days and monitored the tank via camera but when I came back, there was low water in the sump and water splashing everywhere on the outlet side because of it.

There must have been a short power fail and when the pump started again, it did with 3/12 (lights) power instead of 6/12 as it should have. I have an Ecotech battery back-up but do not know if it engaged or not.

Here is my question : what do I need to program so that the pump restarts at 6/12 (lights) power ? And how ?

I DO NOT use the Mobius app so it has to be done on the device control.

Thanks !

I read through your other post, can I ask why you don’t use the app?
It’s extremely crucial to use the app since it updates your firmware on your devices.
When enough complaints and bugs are reported they get patched in firmware updates this might solve an issue you might have or prevent one from happening.
I know a lot of people hate apps but playing with it you end up loving it, I too was skeptical since i haven’t had a reef tank in 15 years.

I just started using it again after writing this post. But before that, every time I used it it would send my settings on the pump back to default.

You’re right about updates and I hadn’t thought about that. I haven’t had any problems for the last 2-3 days with it. So far so good.

I have the same pump you have, it’s awesome IMO, just remember to calibrate to enable feed mode use.
when cleaning anything from these companies just soak in fresh water and scrub with brushes if it’s a moving part. don’t use acid

Do u have anything else from echotech or AI?

I used to have AI Nero 3 and 5 but they all died within a little over a year. I have 4 x AI Prime 16 HD for lights.

I have the same pump and battery back up. When the battery kicks in the pump automatically defaults to 12% intensity to prolong power. Sounds like yours only went back to 50% of your setting after power restored. Not sure why but I'd ask ecotech support and do a trouble shoot verify settings in mobius.

I thought this was user defined ?
The back up intensity? It may be, I just discovered it couple years back while my power was out 13 hours. Noticed my pump barely running and noted the 12% default was a factory pre set. Not sure how to change that default setting or why yours did not go back to normal when power was back on. We all cut power to our pumps on water changes but they always ramp back up to normal when we plug back in.

Yesterday, in the middle of the night I was awaken by the ATO alarm. The Vectra M2 had (again) decreased power on its own, causing the sump to overfill and the ATO sensor to sound the alarm. Not fun.

So I opened a ticket with Ecotech, just 6 days before the warranty expires… Let’s hope they help me.

Does this power decrease happen randomly, is it a daily thing at a specific time, do you lose power at all? just curious sorry if its been asked already.
It happens randomly, whenever the hydro company equipment causes it. I don’t lose power; everything just flickers and comes back on right away. Except my return pump…

Update : the pump has been working fine for the last 5-6 days. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

Since writing this post I did a hard reset on the pump, recalibrated it (again), programmed the battery back-up to function at the same speed as with power and I also pushed in the plug at both ends.

I had not checked it for a while on the controller side so it might have been the problem. We’ll never know since it could be something else I did but I suspect it might have been the culprit.
