I have owned Gures for years. The xf130 and 230 were the best ones. I'd still be using my xf230 but the impeller cage stripped and not longer turns. So I bought a pair of xf350s. One seems to now need a new shaft. The other stopped working. I am soaking in vineager. Also my Maxspect 2k gyre quit. I am also soaking it in vineagar. I am getting afraid to pull the motors out for cleaning as it seems my shaft on my xf350 needs to be replaced. They are hard to find. I'd like to run just one xf350 but it runs on an app. I cannot figure out how to use the app. I only used Ocean Gyre mode but now I have only one pump working. I cannot figure out how to run ine full time. I did get both to run a little but with the Xf350 in particular now I'm afraid to remove the magnet shaft as the other one went bad and Bulk Reef does not have the correct part as mine is a gen 1. Anybody know if I can program the app to run one only? These are good pumps why won't Maxspect deal directly with customers in the US? I need these for tank health including aggression. Basically I have lost 3 now within three months. Two I might get to working again. Possibly the third.

I get my parts from coralvue.com
The only time i have problems with parts wearing out is when i dont clean every month. I have never used vinegar. I disassemble everything and use various brushes and warm water. I dont dose calcium since i dont have corals. If i did i might need vinegar. I also spread out the ramp time and reverse cycle so there isnt as much stress from quick changes in speed and direction.

I did a vineagar soak and they are both running. Coralvue is not longer the distributor for Maxspect. Its Bulk Reed Supply now. I always had good service from Coralvue.

You are correct. I’m also having massive issues with two of the XF350 I purchased. Other local reefers I know have also had the same issue.

The impellers will split and then corrode. I’ve had one replaced under warranty and now BRS is refusing to replace the other impeller that split open. I had two of the original gyre’s for many years and with good maintenance they operated fine. Clearly this product is defective but they won’t address the issue. They are also not as powerful as the original version. I’ll be buying Jebao for now on since I’ve had no issues with their pumps and they are very powerful. The cost for the Maxspect gyres just makes zero sense anymore.

Does jabeo have the option to run two pumps from one controller? My maxspect gyres are always shutting off, but I went with them to limit controllers.

That's gnarly.

I've had 2 Reefwave gyres that I clean regularly and haven't had any issues with the impeller cracking open like this yet.

(they're just rebranded maxspect IIRC)

You can slave Jabeo’s together and it works nicely. Their controllers are getting better with more capabilities. I’ve been in this hobby for 35+ years and it’s nice to have more affordable options especially when the well known brands won’t stand behind their warranty’s. I’m not purchasing another impeller that will fail.

I have a couple XF230's with spare parts I'd let go. Ill never use them.

I just pulled apart my xf350 ce after it stopped, my impeller looks Exactly like yours, the pump has been running for only 10 months in a FOWLR tank, so calcium deposits are minimal. Disappointing...

Some say, report, that using citric acid is better than vinegar. There have been reports on power heads and return pumps with the magnets swelling. I've personally never experienced but I also only use citric acid.

I haven’t used vinegar or citric to clean these pumps. They are clearly defective. BRS handles the warranty’s now and I refuse to buy another impeller that I know will split in half. Jebao gyre has been working brilliantly.
