Proper looking and effective

Just wanted to get some opinions on my first real aquascape. My current setup is basically a mound of rocks stacked on top of each other, and I feel this new layout is a big improvement. Does it provide enough caves for hiding spots, along with open areas for swimming and good water flow? I’ll be adding a few small pieces in the front for zoas, but nothing large.

This will be going into a tank with the following dimensions: 71L × 30W × 22D.

Can't get a good visual on how tall they are compared to the 22" depth... but that would probably be my only suggestion is more potential height!

They are about 11-13 in height, so definitely room to add. Do I want to go much higher? Going to be doing Zoas, Soft and maybe LPS…..they require lower par correct? Wouldn’t I want them closer to the bottom away from the lights?

With this list that size is fine.

With that wide/long a tank (I have a 6footer as well), without at least some more height on one side it just ends up looking flat. That, and more area to mount corals, is why I added a LOT more rock in my tank.

I really like it as is. If you add leathers or torches, that’ll add height in those places. I wouldn’t add anymore rock height now. You could easily make it taller in the future with some branch rock if you think it’s needed, but it’ll be tougher to scale down and still have it look good if you make a taller structure now.

As for caves and habitat, I’ll let others comment there.

As far as caves go, you are good! I personally would add a rock structure to the middle, but that is just me!

Its nice, and maybe it looks bigger in real life, but in the pic it looks kind of small and I get the feeling the tank will be mostly empty. It just seems like minimal rock. I know some people like that so if its what you like then its good. Me I like a full looking tank with a tall aquascapes, thats just my preferance.

If the coral wont be up high all the more reason to add some rocks to fill empty space. You would also be suprised how much par most LPS can handle and thrive!

I do plan on having both leathers and torches. I could see raising one so it doesn’t look as flat like someone commented. I was going for a minimalistic look as the tank I’m replacing is just loaded with rock and very little open swimming space.
