Hi everyone,

I am new to a sumped tank and am wondering does this water level look right? I have it almost silent - i def see why people complain the overflow pipe is about an inch too short. I attached two videos, one with the return pump on one with it off. Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you!

That looks about right. I have a waterbox infinia 230.6 with the same looking sump. I increased the main drain pipe to as tall as I could make it fit in the overflow to reduce the noise and it has the added effect of reducing the amount of overflow in the sump when the return pump is turned off. My sump waterline is about 3 inches from the top when the pump is off.

any luck with silencing it? i am looking into trying to print a small coupling to make the emergency valve a little higher

Yes increasing the length of the main drain pipe and the emergency drain and then playing around with the gate valve adjustments has made a huge difference. Now I am trying to silence the water fall over the divider between the 2nd and 3rd chambers as it is too high even with the 3rd chamber at the 9 inch max fill level for my skimmer. I am going to fasten a sponge with zip ties to see if that helps.

Yeah that is why my sump is so full that overflow was very loud. Apparently you can try aquamesh for it too

water level should be what your skimmer requires, usually 6-8"
that water level looks dangerously high with pump off. ck the height of your returns.
looks like you have too much water. drain it so its around the spillway height.

I think your water level in the sump is too high.

Water should be spilling over that baffle. Your water level should not be set to be above the baffle. Also, with water so precariously close to the top, you may overflow the sump at that level if there is a power failure.

i checked with the pump off i still have about 1.5 inches of room in the sump - but thank you everyone for the feedback i will lower it
