Hi everyone, this is my first time on this forum so please forgive me if I post this in the wrong spot. I am working on an aquarium project for University and am tasked with "injecting a set amount of biological material into the system so that the performance of the skimmer can be automatically tuned based on the amount of waste in a given tank." I am struggling with what this biological material is and how it can be measured. Also, how is protein concentration measured in fish tanks and what would the units be? Any other relevant information that could be beneficial to me would be appreciated.
