Hey R2R,

I am currently running a Euro-Reef CS8-2 (with modded gate valve) on my 120G SPS tank ... It is doing a great job ... but I am considering either 1) adding another skimmer to my system ... it would have to be external since there is no more room in my sump ... or 2) upgrading the current skimmer now to probably a cone skimmer of some sorts, or a larger Euro-reef, ATI or Deltec.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated! :)

Thanks Everyone!

I love my Deltec AP600, but I don't know if the cost is worth it. Haven't really owned a different skimmer since I started the hobby. My tank came with an old school Berlin which I tossed immediately and bought the Deltec. So I have no comparison. It definately is the most important piece of equipment in my opinion so I would get the best you can afford.

My tank is a 120 and a 30 gal frag tank tied together.

For your size system you have a lot of options and you could spend a ton of money and get a great skimmer. However, you could also spend less money and get a great skimmer... The Super Reef Octopus XP-2000 is a great skimmer and will perform just as well or better than many skimmers quite a bit more expensive.

out here in socali warner marine skimmers are great. I would suggest an As-150 for your application and it'll allow you to keep atleast 15-18 fishes easy

Affordable: Bubble Magus or Eshopps
MidRange: Precision Marine
Top of Line: Deltec

+1 on Warner Marine AS150

I have The WM S 150 the model with out the bubble plate and it's an awsome skimmer. Im sure with there added bubble plate it has only gotten better.
