PS3 blu ray

My ps3 won’t play a new blu Ray. Just rented John wick 3, and it shows it on the menu, but when I play it it just shows a load screen with the x,o,etc. it plays my non blu ray discs fine. Bummer. Anyone know if there’s something in the settings that’s doing this? It’s not hooked up to the web. Could that be the issue?

when is the last time it was hooked up to the internet? It very likely could need a firmware update to be able to play latest blu rays

No luck. I was stoked! I’ll rent a regular dvd tomorrow I guess. Didn’t know it would be in red box. I was looking forward to the movie. It just shows right in the menu, mocking me.
