pulsing xenia control... is it possible?

after being demolished by a chocolate chip sea star(who has been rehomed), the pulsing xenia is back stronger than ever. i reserved to cutting it back with scissors. is there a better way to handle it?

I’ve seen these UV wands that sterilize aiptasia. Maybe this can be a way to sterilize the Xenia?

It’s called Reef Delete. But after seeing the price, it will be cheaper to just replace the whole rock!

Hopefully someone can give more reasonable alternatives.
