I just bought a Redstarfish media reactor. Super nice but has 3/4" inlets. My problem is finding a pump with relatively low flow but also with a 3/4" adapter. The reactor is rated at 250gph max. Any suggestions will definitely be looked into. Size is a factor as the pump is going in the rear of an AIO. Thanks, Curt

Get reducers and go from 3/4” to 1/2”

OK. I have coming reducer from 3/4 to 1/2 nylon with 1/2 silicone hose and nylon clips and the I got the smaller version of this pump with a 10 speed controller @162 gph max. I think the range of this should give me good flow without tumbling. What do you think?

It’ll work. I can’t answer the tumbling, you’ll have to try it.

OK. I've got all the stuff for my reactor coming Thursday. The only place I really have space for the pump and return of the reactor is in the 3rd return where I also have my return pump, heater, ato. Is it OK to have the line out and back into the same chamber? And it seems if the main pump went off it would just keep basically my same water level. It increases slightly when the pumps off.

In my opinion I think that would be okay because reactors don’t usually cause big fluctuations while running.

If anyone else has experience with this that would help though.

I'm setting it up and putting it thru the paces tomorrow so I'll let you know if that theory literally holds water.

It works. No leaks. And when I cut off either pump to reactor or tank the level stays constant. I put the return hose deep enough that it doesn't cause any turbulence that would affect my ATO sensor. Ran all night and my water looks so much clearer. Thanks guys.
