Pumps that will fit through bung opening?

So I have a drum that I plan on using for mixing. It only has bung openings so I can't hard plumb it. Any pumps out there that might fit and be able to pump up about 6 ft of height?

Could you just mount a pump on the top and drop a pvc pipe downwards. Basically making a straw?

Ive tried this with an MJ and it work's if the barrel is full. Had a harder time priming once the level went down.

Ya, I thought that would be an issue.
Ok, how big is the hole? As the other person suggested, an ai axis may work, I'd prefer a different cheaper pump, I use zksj pumps all the time.

So ya, the biggest zksj you could fit through there would be a bs600, 600L/hr which is 158gph.

I mean, if it's a 50 gallon drum, and you count for head loss, then roughly 30 minutes to move the water out of it doesn't seem terrible.

I think they ripped off AI in making it.
My red sea ATO is about the same size and may lift enough.

Neither will do it fast though.

That style pump was around way before the AI. AI just did their normal thing, attached their software to old hardware and charged for it. That's basically the same pump I was referring to above, that one is bigger than 2" which is why I didn't recommend it.

I liked the idea of being able to seal it closed. Not out of the question... just looking at options.

Either use a hole saw or a saber saw to cut an appropriate size hole. Now cap that hole with a PVC knockout test plug. This comes in various sizes....I've seen 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 inch test plugs. Now drill a hole in the test plug to fit whatever size pipe you use coming off the pump. The test plug could be siliconed in or just left lose.

I’m surprised nobody’s recommended a tunze osmolator pump yet! — more than enough well height, designed to fit in round container openings, etc!

Keep in mind that you cannot seal a container completely airtight and expect water to be pumped out; air needs to enter the container somehow!

I'm simply wondering how the OP is going to add salt? He did say it was for mixing.

And mix the solution… a small wave maker pump would definitely fit in with the Tunze lift pump though!
