can i use these independently and just glue a frag right to the magnet and put it on my glass ?

they are from a pure flow frag rack but i will not be using the rack itself

I'm not a fan of putting magnets in the tank that I can't periodically inspect. If the outer casing fails the magnet can leach some nasty stuff into the tank water.
