They are colonial in the wild, but are in pair forming colonies. In aquaria they actually become fairly intolerant of one another.

Unless they are already a bonded pr. Firefish are not noticeably sexually dimorphic, and become quite intolerant of one another in aquaria unless they are a bonded pr.
 
Well,my fire fish got acclimated. Then my tube anemone stung him and my inverts ate him....
