Sublime corals, Steve Tyree was the first to have the purple monster from what I know. Not sure who were the first few to have success with it but I would love to hear if anyone has any stories about it. Steve has a good post about it at one point.

I visited Steve when he had his farm in a Laguna Beach (or was it Hills...) apartment. He had a Purple Monster in a 180, if I remember correctly. I'll check my notes...

It was being farmed there and exported for years.

I shipped frags of the PM all over the place. I never kept records. I know Copps just lost his colony. I have not owned this coral for over 10 years.

What a bummer. I just reached out a few weeks ago for a frag and he didn’t have any at the moment. Hopefully he had a backup.

in contrast to many others, the PM looks better and really stands out under 14K or 10K lighting, compared to 20K. That pic was taken under Kessils.

I just got this one as a Tyree Purple Monster. The last two people traded it away because it grew incredibly slow for them. I see white polyps. Under blue, it also has a sheen. I placed it under 425 PAR and using Orphek V4 LED.
