Purple Monti Cap Question

Here is my Purple Monti it seems a little white because the white lights are on but definetly isn't as purple as when i first got him.

Hers my question: It seems like it is growing downward. Is this normal? It has grown quite quickly. Does it look normal to you in the pic?

Looks like a nice piece too me. I'll be following for the answer to the color aspect. Purple seems to be one of the more complex colors to maintain (for me anyway).
