Huh. Ok if you were dipping it in garlic, stop with the garlic. If not, switch to a different bait.

If it hangs out in a particular part of the tank place the trap near there. Maybe the hole is too big and he can get in and out, but the fish can't.

Yeah, garlic makes the food irresistible to marine life. Guess it works best on fish.

Lobsters typically construct burrows, you should have one somewhere in your tank. I'd put the trap near that if it's somewhere you can see.

Valentini puffers release toxins?! I didnt knw that. I thought that waa onlh cowfish that did that. But no i dnt think it released any toxin and it was dead in my tank for at least 2 days, everything else including corals are fine
You had a Valentini??!! That is what I read that they can release a toxic mucus when stressed. You're lucky yours didn't

Thats odd because this is not the 1st valentini puffer I had tht died in my tank... And I dnt think they ever released toxin in my tank... At least not tht I knw off... When they died it never affected any of my other fish that I can remember and this time it didnt as well.

Put the hole of the bottle trap facing in towards the rock/any type of hole or burrow you might see where the lobster could be hiding. That way it would feel more comfortable going into the trap because it doesn't have to venture far.

Ok I get it... But I dnt really see any burrow in the tank.. Mayb ill just place it in a corner somewhere but im sure my fish will still go after the food like i dnt feed them -_-

Puffers don't release toxic mucus. Some boxfish can do that, but not puffers. Their poison is in their flesh and cannot be released as a defense mechanism like the boxfish can.

Yeah, he digs tunnels in the sand. He then lives in these tunnels.

If you have lots of live rock in the tank which it looks like you do, he could be hiding in there. I suggest putting the entrance to the bottle trap facing towards any sort of small opening in the rock he may have gone into.

I hope you can get him out. They're certainly cool to have, but are often little hunters.

Hmmm. Unless there are any rocks that are easy to check under, I'm out of ideas.

I'm kinda worried you haven't seen it actually. They're nocturnal, but not shy.

Do you have any other fish or something that could have eaten the lobster? You said you had a big trigger so I'm just wondering.
