Anyone know why mushrooms develop purple spots on them? I assume it’s from the spectrum of the lights. I’ve had these mushrooms for years and in recent months they have developed purple spots. Also my elegance is developing spots also. Anyone have a clue?

Thanks for the help everyone. I’ve been researching flat worms and there are kinds that live on mushrooms, elegance and softies. They tend to thrive in low flow areas, so it makes sense because these are on backside of my tank where I don’t get as much flow. Siphoning them out are best way to get rid of them, so I took a turkey Bastet and they came off shroom. Also I have a six line wrasse in one of my frag tanks so I may put him in my display. Just worried he might be aggressive towards other fish. I have a melanarus in display but I guess he’s not interested in eating them. Thanks again

You can always use flatworm exit. I’ve used a few times over the years. Works great. Never lost a fish, coral, or invert from using it as long as you follow the instructions to the T

Thanks for all the info guys. Did a few rounds of flatworm exit and think I eradicated all the flatworms, haven’t seen in any a couple weeks. Followed instructions and didn’t lose any corals or inverts as far as I can tell. Again thanks for all the advice.
