Melafix and clean water conditions should help this get healed up

Gem tang I was treating Made a good recovery. Still time for fins to grow completely but they are on the right path. Found that after about a month in quarntine I found sand at bottom of tank. I believe this is what caused the fin rot. He must of been eating it and caused a blockage and infection. Combination of medications and time with a healthy diet he passed the sand thru and fins began growing again

Good notice! Have pics to share the results?

I just received the fish and he is being treated with antibiotics. he was at a friend's sump in his dental office. He didn't know what to do because do not having a hospital tank. I believe that due to the restriction of people circulation the fish was not receiving food every day, he is a little lethargic. I will do my best to try to recover it.

You're lucky its a purple tang. They are the strongest in terms of survivability of any fish in the marine hobby imo.
