I’m rigging up a water hose to a old pump for water changes. This part shown in pic will be screwed to pump. I tried my best to clean up extra glue but I’m to a point now I can’t do much more...will the extra glue that will be exposed to the water hurt anything? I’m gonna soak it in water and scrub with toothbrush after it dries a few hours and that may get some more out but I’m seeing a lot around the rim on the inside where the two pieces went together. Any suggestions?

Yes it’s just the extra glue you see. There is blue splotches everywhere that I’ve been scrubbing on and then on the inside that ring of it.

Agreed, once it is cured, it will be fine. Don't scrub at it so hard that you risk damaging the seal.
