hi guys I posted a thread before and had no response, I'm planning on adapting my current pvc plumbing to make a manifold that's fed from the return , it's a red sea reefer 350. i believe the return pipe that goes to the bulkhead is 25mm so all fittings i have are 25mm, I basically planning on making cuts at 1 and 2 on the picture and adding a T piece, I have 25mm pipe and coupling as I know I will need extra pipe after making cuts. this looks simple enough to me but I've never done pvc before. does this look doable?

so I've done abit of research and people seem to use the red sea part r4221, remove the barb then attatch a 3/4 to 25mm male socket onto it to then put the 25mm pipe on. I think this is what replaces the black bit it didnt know the name of. this would mean no cutting as I could also do this to the pump end but keep the barb on. I could try this as it means I dont need to alter the current pipework and make errors? I could just unscrew it etc.
 
I would recommend you get a separate pump for the manifold / other components. Over time, Red Sea tanks are a pain to constantly dial in due to the crappy valve on overflow pipe. By adding a manifold and reactors, you are adding another variable in that flow, and may end up with a constantly noisy tank that needs adjusting.

yea they are abit awkward but it looks a simple job to put a better gate valve in?, that might be a future project depending how this one goes

Yep with proper adaptors it's not a complicated job. I had everything on a return when I first build my 425xl, after a few months I re-built it. Just runs better. I can fully take off my reactors & Algae Scrubber to work on them without touching the tank, and wise versa.
 
2nd the suggestion to run a 2nd pump for reactors. It will be much easier to control the flow and easier to plumb.
 
I 3rd the suggestion to run the manifold as a separate unit. I have done it both ways several times and always end up redoing the combo setups so that the return isn't affected by the manifolds.
