Hi there

I am setting up a QT.

I am planning to do a water change on my main tank today and save the water i remove.

Then to set up a quarantine tank I will use half the old water, half new salt mix and grab some of my ceramic bio balls from my sump.
I hope this will allow me to skip a cycle and get stuff straight in there from tomorrow.

Thoughts?

The old water won't help the cycle. The ceramic bioballs will. You can always just dump a bottle of bacteria in and use prime (unless you are using cupramine) to make any ammoni not toxic for 48 hours

Thank you.
