Whats the best, and economical way, to be able to buy multiple fish from a vendor and still be able to quarantine them before going into the tank. For example, I'd rather purchase two fish from PIA at a time, depending on size, and then buy two more. However, two orders = $100 for shipping instead of $50.

Do you bite the bullet on the $50 shipping to quarantine fewer fish?

Additionally, quarantining multiple fish at the same time increases the likelihood that a single fish could impact all the new fish in quarantine.

What are your thoughts on this? How do you guys do this?

What size is your QT? Would it be possible to install baffles in the tank to keep them seperated?

My quarantine tank is a 40B, so I'd feel comfortable putting a few, but then you run into the possibility of one infecting the others. I'm torn on if saving $50 is worth having to treat ich on fish that got it from another in the Q tank.

I prefer to only buy multiples unless I'm buying a pair or a trio usually. There are some exceptions of coarse, like two fish that need to be added at the same time for aggression reasons. Then I'll add a divider. Shipping sucks but it's all about what's better for the fish.
