Quarantine Question for Vrolik's Wrasse (Halichoeres chrysotaenia)
I have a Fluval EVO 13 gal tank cycled and ready to quarantine fish. On Tuesday 7/23/19, I will be receiving a Vrolik and Pink Margin Fairy wrasses. My question is should I use Live Sand or Regular Sand for the Vrolik Wrasse. I have a container ready to put the sand in which will take up most of the bottom of the tank. Will the live sand kick off another cycle – will it be safer to use regular sand?

Never used live sand, maybe someone else can comment on it, but I never used it because you don't know how long those bags have been sitting out with nothing producing ammonia and the bag is sealed so there is no new oxygen being added for the bacteria, they also have algae in the bags a lot of the time, but that's just my take on it.

Anyone else have good experience with live sand?

Either is fine, although I'd rinse either one well before using.
Dry sand with RODI water, Live sand with fresh saltwater.
Also you don't really need a huge amount of sand for just one wrasse in QT.
6 x 6" and 1.5" deep should be plenty.
Excess sand will absorb medications and phosphate; can cause problems down the line.
