Some basic supplies you'll need for a QT setup to keep your fish happy and healthy 😁

-Empty 20-40 gallon tank or bin with a full coverage lid
-Heater
-PVC pipes and elbows
-Fully Cycled Media
-HOB Filter, Sponge filter, or Canister Filter
-Medications for fungus, bacterial infections, and parasites (not expired)
-Dry Erase marker to note when you do water changes/dose meds
-Medicated food
-Stress Guard or Ammonia detoxifier
-Net
-A quiet low traffic area for setup

Having all these things on hand will definitely help with keeping your fish healthy and happy. Plus it can be used as a hospital tank or emergency tank in case you have a fish that needs separating from the rest due to injury or old age.

As I was extra paranoid I kept a separate WC bucket with copper (the reason for keeping separate) written on the inside bottom. Then when there’s not water in the bucket, the spare QT equipment, etc. can go in the bucket. And hopefully I me-proofed any goofs. I also wrote copper on anything fitting, like a siphon or hydrometer.
