Question about Hydra HMS mounting

Hey guys! I’m researching getting two AI hydra 26’s. I’ve been looking at the 3 mounting options (hanging, single arm mount (flex and straight) and double arm mount)

1. I don’t want to drill a hole in the ceiling. (Well not allowed)
2. I have a rimmed tank so according to the AI website they said the single arm options are not for rimless tanks.

Does anyone have a way around this? I like the single arm options.
In case there isn’t a reliable way around it, for those of you who have the double arm mount is the length adjustable? My tank is 50inches across and the sizing comes in 48 and 60 inches. Or do those legs adjust on either side?? Sorry from the website I wasn’t able to clearly tell or not if the length of that kit could be adjusted.

could you make a nice double are to go across the tank. I have a t5 with the 26 in the middle and i am gonna make a setup out of oak to go across the tank and then hand the t5s under it so that i too don thave to drill into the ceiling.

alright glad to hear it. what tank do you have? I wouldn't buy the flex, I've heard and seen the flex loose its support at my LFS

I have a 50inch long tank (aqua reef 400 which is 127cm x 50cm by 70cm deep).

I like these hydras but I’m hesitating now. I see a lot of reviews complaining about connectivity issues. I’m not sure if this issue has been resolved or not since last year and so I’m doing a little more research.

The other option is for me to buy the much cheaper Chinese aquaone LED lights designed for my tank. But since my previous T5’s designed by the same company corroded within 3 years I’m a bit cautious of that too hahah...

nice tank, I do enjoy my ai prime HD, I use the david Saxby light schedule and I think they have patched the connecting issues. you are talking about pairing two lights correct?

Yup that’s light! I heard they are hard to connect to the WiFi and then hard to pair

if you have a laptop you don't really need to connect to the cloud, just read the instructions and then you can re read the instructions I was able to connect with no issues using the instructions

I’m almost ready to place my order for two hydra 26’s and the mounting rail system.

Just doing last minute reviews of the geisemen and kessil tuna blues in case I’d prefer them. There’s just so much on the market (even with the limited market in my small country) and I sorta feel like eventually I just have to make up my mind and choose something.

Yeah I’ve just started learning about PAR and PUR etc... Saxby schedule huh? I’ll look into that thanks
