Question about MP40 RF Modules and Apex Connectivity

Is the RF module what determines if a MP40 connects via WXM or MXM? If I have a new Vortech driver & dry side, with the most up-to-date RF module, can I trade the RF module with someone with an older pump in order to "downgrade" my pump and run it on WXM?

No it is not as simple as swapping the rf module, it is controlled by firmware. When they first released the möbius compatible vortechs there was a way to downgrade the firmware to make it work with the WXM, but at some point they removed that ability. I don’t believe the ability to downgrade the firmware was ever brought back.
