Can anyone educate me on what this is? When the ricordea opens up and lays out you don’t see the unknown part. But closed up you see it. I have been google searching my fingers off trying to figure out what it is. Unless I’m a idiot and it’s just the bottom of the ricordea. Any help would be amazing.
thank you

Maybe just the rock it’s attached too? I can’t really tell since it’s so blue. Maybe adjust lights to be whiter to get a better picture

Yes it’s better, I’m pretty sure it’s just the chunk of rock the ricordea is attached too. Then the rock was glued to the frag plug.

The second to last photo is clear enough to see a vermitid tube.

Thank you very much. I took the coral out and closely examined it . And that is exactly what it was. I just removed it with my bone a scissors and will have to watch and wait to see how the coral responds. Really appreciate the sharp eyes. Thank you

Well done. On cases where it’s too difficult, you can encase in super glue. For future reference
