In my new 68g I have a nice big rock scape. 2 blowers with one pointing toward the back wall so I have good flow.. I don't believe there are any dead spots.. The tank is still newish and going through the typical stuff.. The diatoms have basically passed but I can feel bumpy stuff on the back wall but it's black so it can really be see ... I want coralline to grow so I was told not to cleAn the back wall and just let it be.. Only clean the front and side glass.. Is that really a good idea? I don't want bad stuff to grow.. The growth is so hard I would need a razor at this point so I want to just leave it!!

I wouldn't be able to go free of cleaning the glass at this early stage, that could allow algae to set in

My call is keep back wall clean and coralline w catch up anyway

Thanks! I was hoping not to hear that! I left plenty of room to access it but I cant believe after only a few weeks how bumpy and hard that back surface feels even with the good flow. I have tried the tunzi scraper and other long handle metal scrapers but the best to clean I have found is an old fashioned razor blade! Do you have a better suggestion for that?

I used to have a wooden dowel with a notch in the end and then a blade glued in that was the best I could muster lol
