Just set up my reefer 250 over the weekend and have 2 A160's lighting the tank. My question is how loud are these lights supposed to be? One of the lights is nearly silent while the other one has a considerable humming noise. The loud one has a good amount of airflow coming from it while the quiet one has just barely enough air coming out of it to feel. Not sure if this is normal for them to be that different or if not are they supposed to be kinda loud or basically silent? I'm guessing one of them isn't quite right but since I just got them I'm not sure which one. Thanks for any help!

I would call Kessil, and report the issue. That is not normal
I thought about doing that but I was thinking since I ordered them through Amazon and just set them up I could possibly just do a defective return and get a replacement straight from them instead of going to Kessil. I know sometimes going through the manufacturer can be a pain but if that's what I have to do that's fine. I'm just not sure which one is normal and which one isn't.

I know the feeling. My wife thinks I might have a "problem" because of how much I order from there lol It really is hard to be their customer service and returns policy though. I'm just hoping someone can tell me which one I need to send back :D
Mine are near silent. Thanks for posting as it reminded me I need to get a "can of air" and blow the dust out the vents!
No problem! Thanks for the info! I was hoping for as much as these things cost they weren't supposed to be that loud but I wasn't sure. Do you feel much airflow from yours if you put your hand up to it? I can just barely feel it from the quiet one so I hope the fan is working properly on that one.
Yeah I went ahead and did a return for one of them through Amazon and ordered another from brs. If that one and the quiet one seem to work the same I should be good. If not I'll send the other one back too and order another one.
Oh and it's definitely not nit picking. Everything else on the aquarium is pretty much silent but you can hear that one light even if the tv is on. I actually think the noise bothered me more than her. I upgraded from a biocube so I'm used to some noise from the fans on that thing but I definitely don't want to hear any noise if I don't have to ;)

Cool thanks! It's funny because when I went home on my lunch break it was a lot quieter than it was last night. Not sure if it was just a one time thing or what but since I can easily send it back I'll just replace it so hopefully I don't have problems with it down the road.
