So about 14 days ago I switched my schedule to AB+ on my radions (Currently acclimating for 30 days) and ever since then I've noticed 2 corals just arent happy with the change. I'm most worried about is this Digi for some odd reason it just isn't happy. Not sure what's going on with it.

I know my Calc is high. I have been trying to lower it since June by dosing Alk every so often when my Alks dips to 7.5. My tank isnt really consuming alk but I see some growth. I got a pH scrubber coming in since my pH doesn't move from 7.8.

My Alk is 7.89
Calc 594
Mag 1489
Phosphate 0.043
Nitrate (IDK I ran out of reagents)

This is another Monti that not too happy but recovering. You can see a little bit of brown on it.

Go on Monday to a LFS and rent a PAR meter.... then report back
I already pared my tank 2 week ago. This is with acclimation mode off.

the area where the Digi is about 240 PAR

This is AB+ whites at 25% red and green 10% blues 100%. 3 Radion XR15 Pro Gen 5

What light schedule were you running before switching? What overall intensity are you running now? I take it you are running G5 Pros. You probably done need to run that long of an acclimation if you need to run one at all, but it depends on what you were running before.

Before I was running straight blues with 5% whites all day. After much research I decided to switched to AB+

schedule is 100%. 17 days left on acclimation

Are these the XR-30 or 15s? How high are they mounted?

The digi probably doesn’t like the increase in whites. My guess is it will settle down once it gets some time under the new spectrum.

Also, can you post a screen shot of your daily graph?

My digis where a little bitchy too when I got them under a new light.
I freaked out and tried alot.. all for nothing - they just needed time to acclimate

Trying…
Calc just won’t go down im doing weekly 5G WC with Tropic Marin Salt

That's not calc. That's salinity. Try to get that to 35.0. When you do your water change, mix is lower than 35. Or, scoop some water out of your tank and replace with RODI water. Get your calc (calcium) to around 420.

As far as your lights, I'm not sure what that AB+ schedule is you're running. I also have Gen 5 Radion XR 15 Pros, and using the Mobius app, all I did was press the AB+ schedule under the templates and was done. Well, I adjusted the intensity a little, but otherwise is click and forget. Verified my PAR numbers with an Apogee.

I know that's salinity...

I'm using the WWC SPS Mixed reef setting. It basically is AB+ just not whites all day.

I run, and would suggest you just run the AB+ Program. It will simplify the program, and not stress the corals as much. Have you read the coral lab documentation? It explains the different settings that eco tech has preprogrammed and how they preformed in testing. AB+ will give you good color and growth at the same time. Here’s the link:

You said above you were running wwc mixed reef. Which isn’t AB+. It is modified to not have whites running all day. They have a long photo period so their ranks are lit during store hours. They also supplement their radions with T-5, which is providing higher par even during the all blue period.

I bet you are robbing your corals of par when you reduce the whites. Currently you are running 5 hours of just blues, and I would bet your par levels during that time is sub 130 with XR-15s. Only way to know is get a par meter to check, but I bet this could be part of the issue.

Here is the Par map for my tank. I have 4 Gen 5 XR-15 Pros, they are 9” off the water. It is running the straight AB+.

I guess I could switch to straight AB+ from 9 am to 8 pm... How come some of my corals react terribly when I switched to the white light?

White leds tend to really increase par levels, and since leds are a more focused light the corals seems to take a long time to acclimate. With that said, you can acclimate any coral to any light, it just might be a much slower acclimation than what you think. When you purchase new corals for your tank try to find ones that are currently being grown under leds, it will help them acclimate easier to your tank.

As for the ones in your tank already I would just set it to AB+ and leave the acclimation as is. Give it time and see what happens. Try to just set it and forget it, changing things isn’t gonna help the process. Corals are extremely adaptable and will eventually come around.
