Finally upgrading to a pair of MP40s for my 150g tank and I’m pumped!

Wanted to know what all the MP40 owners out there run in terms of modes, duration, and why they chose what they did.

I’m also open to suggestions based on my DT dimensions of 72x18x29.

Thanks!!

I’ve got 2 MP60’s and 1 MP40 in my new tank but there not installed yet

If you look on the Ecotech web site there’s a flow calculator if you haven’t seen it. You put your tank dimensions in and it tells you want options you need etc.

I personally run reefcrest during the "lights on" or daylight hours, for that random/chaotic flow patterns(these ramp up and down through my apex. So basically reefcrest between 30 and 90%). Then at night when lights are off I like to slow the flow down a bit and run lagoon mode at 45%.

I also have a gyre and 2 jebao PP8's in an 85G cube. I like the randomness of all 5 of these pumps firing off at different times with different modes, and my corals love me for it also.

I run them on reefcrest, some of them at least.... not sure really. Picking up a WXM to control them this morning..... then I will probably mess with a “program” of some sort

I run six MP40’s on my 140-150g

I have an MP40 and MP10 running. The MP40 is on the left side and the MP10 is on the back glass right side. I have the MP40 running at a very reduced rate due to the size of my display. It changes from 3 EcoSmart modes throughout the day with the MP10 running EcoSmart Back during those times. I run the MP40 at a higher rate for a short period to clean up detritus in the evening, and then both pumps run pretty slow constant overnight.
EDIT: I can upload the program this evening when I get home if you’re interested.

I have 2 on the right and 2 on the left. They ramp up and down and synch and use "Eco Back" throughout the day. I tried to have one side ramping up with the other is ramping down some so they aren't always meeting in the middle.

I run the WWC schedule, they have on their website all the stats.

I run 5ea mp60's on a 5x5x3' tank. No fancy programing
2ea at 50% daytime to produce a directional flow mid tank height. Then lowest setting at night.
2ea at 30% for 15 min each hour to push back against the directional flow, low down in the tank. Then lowest setting at night.
1ea at 30% right down the middle to bounce off the front glass. Then lowest setting at night.
I also have a small jebao near the top to create ripples on the surface to get that kessil shimmer going.

Depends on what kind of tank (softies, LPS, SPS) and what other circulation you have. If SPS, and no other power heads, you’ll probably need to push them pretty hard. I control my MP60s via a WXM and alternate between reef crest and pulse/anti-sync.
