So waterbox 7226 180 display 40 sump
Current parameters are:
Alk:7 (changes to yellow 7 drops)
Calc:500+ (off the chart)
N03:less than 10ppm on api
P04:0 (hanna says 0.00) Api says .02
Salinity:1.024
Ph: 8.3-8.2 drops slightly at night (on a monitor)
Tanks been up for about a month and a half or so, I checked alk last week and it changed to yellow at 8 drops... typical when I test, but then I tested this week and it was 6 drops... so I tested about 327 more times and still was at 6... so in a state of emergency I mixed up a cup of kalkwassser and added a teaspoon of kalk to a cup of r/o, I slowly through a period of a good 20 minutes just slowly added it in with a dripper, ph only went up to 8.4 so I added a little bit of vinegar until it went back down to 8.3... I checked the next day and everything is still alive, but alk is still only at 7dkh, I'm aiming for 8-12 dkh range... also calcium was over 500 on red sea test. But everything in tank looks fine 3 days later... is all of this swinging in parameters due to mess things up in future? And how do I get alk up the right way? Should I use baking soda?
I dose amino acids and part 1&2 fusion, also have kalkwasser in ato...
I did forget to dose all last week not thinking it would fall so fast... is that my whole issue?
Also I had my phosphates drop out completely from an OD of phosrx, and I been feeding everyday to try to build phos up to a measurable amount on hanna checker.
Tank is stocked full of corals and animals does crabs and shrimp molting mean the water isn't that bad? Been working hard to keep water good for everything in there. No deaths so far from tampering... no signs of any real stress either...
