Yesterday I received 1gln of sodium bicarbonate jar from BRS.... I read the instructions and it says 1 measuring of sodium bicarbonate and 4 tsp of soda ash in a gallon of rodi water..... I dnt have any soda ash on me... Does sodium bicarbonate will work on Alk by itself ... If so possibly guide me on mixing instructions....

Directions from BRS

MIXING DIRECTIONS
Fill gallon jug 4/5 full with RO/DI or distilled water and pour into empty bucket/bowl.
While stirring water, add 1 level dry measuring cup and 4 tbsp of Sodium Bicarbonate.
Once dissolved, use funnel to transfer solution to gallon jug. Fill remainder of jug with water.
Label Sodium Bicarbonate - Alkalinity and let sit before use.

I'm not seeing anything about soda ash. Soda ash is what you would mix 2 part if you wanted to increase ph and sodium bicarbonate is used to add alk and slightly lowers ph. Hope this help

Dry measuring cup would be the cup you would use if you were measuring flour. A wet measuring cup is what you would use to measure oil. At least in food science terms.

Sodium bicarbonate is baking soda. Soda ash is "baked" baking soda. Literally baked in an oven to remove moisture and co2.

Just add baking soda per the directions or bake it for a slight pH boost.
