Quick Decline- Ich?

Welp looks like my fish on my second tank have caught white spot disease...the question is which? I am leaning towards ich due to the size of the lesions but the speed at which it is taking over my fish is concerning... It showed up yesterday almost overnight and although it was generally over this fish today it is way more severe and the fish is now swimming lobsided on the sand bed. This is the only fish affected (I have a female maroon and a damsel in the tank too acting fine and no lesions on them)

I removed him from the tank today and started copper treatment at 1.0 ppm in a qt tank empty with a heater and bubbler.

Fish have been in this tank for about a month and there had been no issues until now.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Should I qt the other 2 fish in a separate tank as well on copper? Or wait for clinical signs ?

Forgot to add the fish have all been eating with no issues. The affected fish stopped eating today but im not sure if maybe the copper tx may have stressed it a bit too or if its disease progression

Yes, heavy ich presence and will require immediate treatment in a separate tank using coppersafe or copper power at 2.25ppm for a full 30 day period (do not interrupt this 30 day period) monitored by a reliable Copper Test kit such as Hanna Brand and also monitor Ammonia levels while in quarantine with a reliable test kit and add aeration during treatment using an air stone.
The display tank will have to be kept fishless (FALLOW) for 6-8 weeks to assure the existing parasites go through their life cycle without a host fish and die off and with occupants exposed, they too should go into quarantine
A quarantine tank can be as simple as a tank from a second hand store or a starter kit from Walmart which most of the needed essentials.

That’s ich.

Coppersafe and copper power need to be brought to 2.25 ppm asap. Taking too long just allows the fish to get sicker.

All fish exposed to this one should be treated also.

I prefer to quarantine fish together if the tank is large enough.

Try together and separate if deemed necessary such as fighting or chasing

have any of you guys tried copperpower word of caution i’ve had more fish deaths due to this rubbish than anything else if you are to use it very slow over a week a much better option is cupramine. Although this is no longer available in the UK.

I have used both cupramine and copper power. Cupramine added over the course of 3 days and copper power immediately to therapeutic 2,5 ppm. Had to transfer a wrasse that didn’t do well in cupramine to the copper power tank and he recovered his activity almost immediately.

Both copper power and coppersafe are much more mild than ionic copper products like cupramine. That does mean though, that they are slower to work.
