Quick New Tank Question

Just got new Red Sea G2Max S 700 tank setup and running. I was able to transfer a lot of media from an established tank at my office. Filters, rocks, etc... Cycle happened really quick. Now we are 2 weeks in from adding water and there are a couple clown fish and a couple other fish and snails and crabs. I am getting the typical brown diatomy looking stuff on sand and some algae on the rocks. I am wondering what I can do to minimize this stuff? There are a few corals in the tank so I dont want to just turn the lights off.

Lights- 2 XR30 and 2 AI Blades (off)
Nitrates are around 15 because I used some nitrates and bacteria to help with cycle. That worked great, but now nitrates are still a little high. I did first water change tonight and will do another tomorrow or next day to get them lowered. Skimmer is also running.

You gotta let it do its thing. Nothing good happens fast. Get use to hearing that.

I start all my tanks with Tampa Bay rock and sand. While they are insta-tanks. They still do some funky shizzle from time to time. I added. I recently added a second, remote, sump to a very established healthy system, 2 months later the sump is still got the ugliest from 100 par. She is just now showing signs that she is going to turn the corner. Time, time, time. Just stick to the basics and test often. You probably already know… Just make sure you don’t bottom your nutrients out.

Thanks for the reply. yeah I have a big tank at my office that has been going for about a year. That thing is kicking butt but it went through a bunch of rough times as well. That being said, I have a tank consultant/maintenance person that helped a ton with the setup of that one. I am doing this one on my own. Just want to make sure I am not doing anything obviously stupid lol.

I personally wouldn't even begin to worry about nitrates of 15. As mentioned you do not want them bottoming out so let them ride.
Are you seeing any pods on the glass? they are great CUC and can make good work of diatoms and such and if you have algae are any of the fish you have herbivores?

I do have some pods and I have a ton more of them arriving from algae barn in a couple days. Plus the trochus snails at my office aquarium F more than bunnies so I will bring a bunch of them home as well. Honestly there must be 500 trochus snails in that tank. They are tucked into every nook and cranny.
