Just ordered a new Apexel. My system will be running a kalk stirrer fed by a brs 50mil/ min pump.

Am I able to program the Apex to turn the brs pump on for less than a minute? Say I wanted to run it for 30 seconds every hour. If not, would my next best option be to get the 1.1ml/ min pump and run it for roughly 25 minutes every hour?

You can program to do anything you want! The fun part is learning HOW to program it! The Neptune forums are an awesome tool to use if you are having issues.

Would this program make the brs pump run for 30 seconds every hour?

If I wanted to run my kalkwasser stirrer for 5 minutes every hour and the Doser 10 minutes later for 30 seconds every hour, does this look correct:
Outlet 1 (kalkstirrer):
1. Fallback OFF
2. OSC 000:00/005:00/0055:00 Then On

Outlet 2 (Doser):
1. Fallback OFF
2. OSC 015:00/000:30/044:30 Then On

It looks right to me, give it a shot. Keep in mind when you switch it on it will take 59:30 before you see the pump run.

I believe you got that backward. That program should be OFF/ON/OFF, so the initial OFF will last 0 seconds, then it will be on for 30 seconds, followed by being off for 59:30. The OSC was originally for setting up wavemaker timing. Also note the "divide by 10" option that you could use if needed.

I believe that code will work for offsetting stirring and dosing.

I'll hook the outlets to my lights tonight to verify the program does what I want it to. Can you explain the "divide by 10" you mentioned? This is my first Apex so I'm trying to learn everything I can .Thanks

When setting up the profile, it’s a method of speeding up how quickly the pump alternates. Instead of the code oscillating in seconds, it will do it in tenths of a second so you can make standing waves. It would probably also be useful for dosers in small tanks or elements that require tiny doses.

Tapatalk isn’t letting me attach a picture, but you can find the checkbox when you are in the profile.

Have a look through their documentation page. The comprehensive reference manual is pretty helpful, though it has been a few years since they updated it.

It is confusing without my programming cheat sheet right in front of me. I knew I had a 50/50 shot.. ;Smuggrin

With the OSC coding am I able to make it run multiple times per hour?
Example:
1. Fallback OFF
2. OSC 000:00/000:15/059:45 Then ON
3. OSC 030:00/000:15/029:45 Then ON

Would this give me 2 15 second doses per hour versus the single 30 second dose?

I'd have to check to see if it would work for sure, but try:
OSC 029:45/000:15/000:00

I think that will give you a 30 minute period with 15 seconds of dosing per period.
