Quick question about filter socks

So I'm building a new sump and decided to incorporate a filter sock into it, so I ordered a half dozen 4" socks online. Problem is im building the sump right now and need to know the exact diameter of the ring on the filter sock so I can make the holder. Is it exactly 4"? Does it vary by brand? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

The best I can measure a BRS 4in filter sock is 3.75 in, that's measuring the part that the sock actually sits on, not what you see from the top.

where you ordered them from should have some specs . This is really the only way to know for sure
